Episodes
A special bonus episode!   Andy made an appearance on NJIT's Radio Station WJTB this past week on the show "Dylan's Jams' one of his former students. He asked him to be a part of a special episode focused on the Beatles. The announcement of "Now & Then" and the Red/Blue album reissues wasn't announced before we scheduled the show so it was a nice timing coincidennce.

Finally! After a few years and many requests we finally take a deep dive into the 3rd Fireman album, 2008's Electric Arguments'. Arguably what could be considered another solo album like McCartney II or III, this album 15 years on has been lost a bit with the embarrassment of studio albums released between 2005 and now. Tom could not make this week's show, so joining Andy is original 2Legs Co-Founder David Gargalino. We talk Beatles/Now & Then and also dive into a little bit of prog rock...

Well, sort of. This week on the show Tom and Andy (with a big thank you to our friend Kyle Hand for the suggestion) come up with 3 documentaries we would like to see produced (Beatles Anthology style) on certain eras in Paul's career. How would the narrative be told etc. Fun little exercise. We like our choices. What eras would you choose?

Tom and Andy return for a new show for October! This week we have a quick chat about 'Helen Wheels' which celebrates it's 50th Anniversary this month. Our thoughts on the song as a standalone single, and it's "lost in the shuffle" status among so many other gigantic 70s hits. We also discuss the marketing decision for the US market to include it on Band On The Run from Capitol A&R man Al Coury. What say you? Should it be on the LP or not.  We'll take a tally and discuss on our next show!...

Part 2 of this! Tom is back after a week off, and we pick 15 songs from the 1980s/1990s McCartney Catalog that we feel are "As Good As The Beatles". Hope you like it! Tell us some of yours! See ya next week!

Throwback Show! One of the co-founders of 2Legs joined Andy this week as Tom has been crazy busy and needed the week off, so I was joined by none other than Mr. David Gargalino for Episode 222! David and Tom started 2Legs in 2016 and this week David tells us how it started, some notable guests, and why he exited. David and Andy discuss all things Beatles, McCartney (our fav lineups) and even the recent Who's Next/Lifehouse box set. (Andy unboxed on his channel - Who's Next Unboxing Thanks...

Hello All! Another Guest Author Interview! This week Tom and Andy were joined by Dr. Richard Driver, Author of the new book That Was Me: Paul McCartney's Career and Legacy Of The Beatles. Richard's book analyses The Beatles' impact culturally in America, and then Paul's trajectory throughout the 60s. The majority of his book is all about Paul Solo (which we all love since so many books are not written that way). We contextualise some of the Beatles impact during the 60s during our discussion...

It's been a minute but we're back with a new show! Just Tom and Andy this week after a very busy August (Fest, and 3 stellar author interviews) we kept this one light and simple. We're going to do a 3 part show where we pick 15 songs from each era of McCartney's career that we think equal Beatle level compositions. This month we focus on the 1970s. Future episodes will be 80s/90s and 00s/10s. Hope you are all well and thanks for sticking with us! We have plenty lined up for the rest of...

We were honoured to have the esteemed author and journalist Mr. Peter Doggett join us for Episode 219! Peter penned the superb book You Never Give Me Your Money: The Beatles After The Breakup (initially subtitled The Battle for the Beatles Soul which was stupidly rejected by the publisher) in 2009. It is the best piece of writing that focuses on the relationships all 4 Beatles had throughout the 70s, 80s and through the time of publishing. It is also the only book to keep the scope of...

Recorded at the 2023 Chicago Fest with Dr. Kenneth Womack and Dr. Kit O'Toole, Andy participated in a discussion on the 1980s Solo Beatles career.  Apologies on the audio quality on this one.  But it was a good discussion.  Enjoy!

Fresh Off from the Fest (although this was recorded prior) we welcome back Author John Blaney on this week's episode. John is the author of the now 5 part series of books titled The Songs He Was Singing, which is a complete and chronological review of McCartney's Discography. Later this year he will be publishing Volume 5 which we discuss on the show. Volume 5 covers the period of years 2010-2019. Only 2 new albums of original material during this time frame (New & ES) but a ton of other...

We are very happy to have Chip Madinger & Mark Easter back again this year for another deep dive for a Year In Review show. Chip and Mark published the epic Eight Arms To Hold You book in 2000. It is the must own book for fans of the Beatles Solo music. See link below to purchase the 2018 revision on Chip's site. This time we chose 1989. A very productive and busy year for Paul that centered around the release of Flowers In The Dirt. Was it a "comeback"? or just another record? A lot of...

Something new we started earlier this year previously with Off The Ground. We give a re-listen with our YouTube audience for the almost now 10 year old NEW.  Which still sounds as fresh as it did back then.  The YouTube police quickly cracked down but we are happy to share the audio of it here.

"Hey Hey" (a "most" memorable song on Pipes of Peace right?) Everyone! We're back and we did another documentary watch/review this week. And a very emotional/heartwarming one. 1997's In The World Tonight was produced to showcase the making of the now iconic 25 year old LP Flaming Pie. A real return to form for Paul, made in the homespun affair just like 1970's homemade McCartney debut. It also highlights what else Paul was up to during this period. Animated short films, classical composing,...

Another multi series deep dive! We did a multi part series previously on John and Paul with Antony Rotunno (Glass Onion Podcast). We felt the time was right to tackle the next one and for it we enlisted the help of Author/Journalist Eoghan Lyng (George Harrison In The 1970s U2 on Track), to join us for this first installment on the somewhat frosty relationship Macca and George had between the period of January 1969 thru the Spring of 1975. We present a timeline of events where the two paths...

This week on 2Legs, we were joined by longtime friend and follower of the show, Kyle Hand who had a great suggestion for a show he told us about at the NY Fest earlier this year.   This week we picked our favourite 21 Paul songs from the 21st Century to create a fictional double LP. All albums standard/covers were fair game. The albums we pulled from were Driving Rain (2001), Chaos and Creation in the Backyard (2005), Memory Almost Full (2007), Electric Arguments (2008), Kisses On The Bottom...

A new month, and a brand new show to kick off July 2023! We had a fun time with 'This One' (pun intended!). This time we dived into the now obsolete and forgotten BBC Documentary titled The Paul McCartney Special. Originally recorded in July of 1986 and broadcast in August 1986 on the BBC and released on Home Video (1987). It was presented and hosted by Richard Skinner of the BBC. It was a very important documentary at the time because you saw for the first time pro shot footage of some...

A surprise Bonus Episode! We were happy again to have Ms. Joan Borelli back on the show. Joan was with us last year when she went to the first GOT BACK show. Joan was fortunate enough to be one of the lucky attendees to the recent Paul discussion with Conan O'Brien for the launch of the "Eyes of the Storm" book. Her luck does not run out there! She then bought a copy of the book which was SIGNED BY PAUL. Only 175 and available from the UK only. She bought the book, made the trek to London to...

We celebrate Paul's 81st Birthday with a deep discussion on his first solo single 'Another Day' b/w 'Oh Woman, Oh Why'. And joining us once again is our friend and colleague Luca Perasi. Author of the new book: "Paul McCartney: Music Is Ideas - The Stories Behind The Songs 1970-89 Volume 1.  Thanks again for a great episode Luca!
