Decent content but the guy can’t even read his script. Mangles it every time and is unlistenable. How hard is it to practice?

Love morf and Lee, but Suzanna is horrible. Literally says the same thing on repeat every show. “I’d love to see what DNA they have..”. Yeah we all would.

The idea of this show is excellent. I appreciate the comprehensive approach of having so many experts to address the case, and having the victim’s closest kin speaking as well. I have listened to every episode. I truly hope that this leads to these cold cases being solved. The exceution of this...Read full review »

As others have mentioned: It is hard to hear properly and follow, each speaker has a different setup, the quality is not always good enough in my opinion, and the frequent slurred speech. The approach as well is somehow bothering me… The posture adopted by some reflects negatively on the...Read full review »

I regret to say that I’m disappointed in this podcast. I like Morf and Dr Mellor, and I’ve enjoyed listening to Suzanna Ryan in interviews elsewhere. Unfortunately, the story is read without rehearsal or editing and the stumbles are distracting such that I have a hard time keeping my focus on it....Read full review »

Citizen Detective is mission-oriented, interactive, and inclusive of anyone wanting to get involved with discussing or helping to solve cold cases. I love tuning in as much as I enjoy being a guest! To many talking at the same time and the guy that has investigated 250 murders is full of himself! Love his 99 percent of the time it’s the husband. I’m sure he investigated with an open mind. Disappointed in the podcast.

I really like the content and ideas behind this podcast. Unfortunately, the audio quality is terrible. I can only understand about every other word Morph (Morf?) says, and Alex sounds like she’s in a tunnel. I really hope you guys can get better audio quality, because I’d like to start listening...Read full review »

Everything Mike Morford does is worth listening to. In depth research, tight analysis and thoughtful commentary. Now Mike is solving cold cases with his experienced and knowledgeable co-hosts and guests. Keep up the great work you do Mike & co!

I LOVE this podcast! It’s my new fave. I was hooked after the Dermond episode. I saw a review that mentioned looking up the term “scrum” on urban dictionary….I looked it up and suggest that you do the same! Hahaha! keep up the great work!

Great insights into the cases you have covered. Only thing I would mention is maybe take a look at “Scrum” in urban dictionary.

I’ve read plenty of true crime. This first case of yours is an excellent one because it’s strange and inscrutable. What did the killers gain from this weird, complicated event? Why didn’t they take the jewelry? If it was committed by some usual suspects who got it all wrong why no arrests? In...Read full review »

Cartels? MS13?? Really??? As if they wouldnt stand out in a predominantly white&affluent neighborhood. Aren’t there knives that can do a clean meat cut? Surely. Even Japanese knives would work. Great hosts who know how to listen to families, guests, witnesses and experts in order to ask excellent questions. A lot of podcasts give lip service to putting a focus on the victim; this one actually has a true victim focus from start to finish. Thorough without containing extraneous detail,...Read full review »

Hosts are good. Material good. But repetition and/or constantly repeating how something will be explored more in upcoming episodes (about once every two minutes) comes off as reductive. Frustrating.

DNA has provided a suspect and he’s arrested, awaiting trial. These factors occurred WHILE the season was only about halfway through. He’s yet to be tried so until that happens, they can go no further on this story just yet. I’m told there will be updates as the case continues. Stay tuned.

11. Wrap up. A perp has been identified and arrested via DNA. Yeah. The first caller just called to gush over the podcast... But I’m missing something... Why is the season ending here? Debating whether this is the worst true crime podcast of all-time; or, its purpose is to put one to sleep within 5 mins? Blah, blah, blah, blah. 3 men which have no crime, law or investigative creds just speculating ad nauseam at great lengths about things related to this case. They add no value to anything to do with it. BORING.

I really like the podcast. It's one of the most thoroughly researched podcasts I've ever listened to.
