“Dan provides some great ideas. However, some of his suggestions for job seekers did not work with some of my previous employers. Be careful!
I've attended meetings for two different employers during which my supervisor for company #A and the owner of company #B reviewed incoming resumes. Both people began these meetings a thick stack of resumes and a large, empty garbage can. They'd quickly scan each resume. If an applicant did not follow the instructions detailed in our employment ad or if he lacked the minimum education/employment requirements his resume was tossed in the garbage without being reviewed.
Here's the thing - employers often receive an overwhelming number of resumes in response to an ad. They have little time and very little patience for applicants who don't follow the instructions detailed in the employment ad. Proceed with caution.”Read full review »
