What a treat
I’m enjoying this so much. When I heard about it even I, a die-hard fan of the movie, thought 50 episodes would be too much. But it’s such a treat to hear someone who loves it as much as I do dissect it in detail. Speed has always felt like the slightly odd child of the 90s action movies. It’s one of the best, for sure, but it doesn’t have the Bruckheimer/Bay excess or the Planet Hollywood star power. What’s becoming clear over the course of the podcast is how this one slipped through the net as a relatively low-budget B-movie that just happened (and very nearly didn’t) have the right talent attached to make it soar. I’ve raced through the first fifteen episodes in about three weeks and now face the mild inconvenience of having to wait for weekly drops, but it’s great to have something to help count down the weeks to the film’s 30th anniversary. Thanks very much for this. I’ll be listening all the way to the finish.

The amount of work that’s gone into this is incredible. I’m waiting for the episode where he interviews the guy that got the coffee on set. Fantastic stuff.
