“i was born in 1979 and hated most of the music that was popular when i was young/a teenager. as one does. as a snob, i only listened to 60s music back then. i still hate most of the songs that „explain the 90s“, but this is a great - and well written - podcast.
i know that you have covered pavement, but i think slint, archers of loaf or blind melon (they even had a mainstream hit) would be a good addition/feature - maybe in episode 287?
also, i have a soft spot for everclear and their 90s stuff (especially the album „sparkle and fade“). i know they were somewhat popular in the us but noone here in (central) europe seems to have ever heard of them.
i still enjoy playing their songs in the jukebox (only songs from „so much for the afterglow“ available > enjoyable album, too) at the dive bar located two floors under my flat to a bewildered/indifferent crowd of two to three.
cheers!
ps: maybe someone should tell tom breihan that max martin and the „artists“ he has worked with are 0/10.”
