“My oldest daughter was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder depressive type and anxiety when she was 12. Two years later, her younger sister was diagnosed with cyclothymia (a milder form of bipolar) at age 11. We live in the rural south and we’re so lucky to find a psychiatrist to correctly diagnose and treat them both and a psychologist who would treat adolescents. Luckily, they both like their doctors a lot! Their treatments have went remarkably well, but I’ve struggled. I have a few friends and family who are as supportive as they can be, but they don’t have any real understanding . This podcast is really fabulous because it is another way to help me understand both of them!”
