I can only agree with Bob Chapman on his vision of Leadership
Chapman’s vision and lived leadership resonates totally with my personal experience. Demonstrating right and caring leadership can not be done alone within an organisation, it requires absolute engagement and commitment of the senior leadership and a reference model to function with. The model institutionalised within one of the previous company I’ve worked for was the Shingo Model, of which the foundation’s principle is « Lead with humility and Respect of every individual ». This is a powerful cultural enabler, and as a leader the first sign of respect is to ensure that the individuals feel safe in the organisation they contribute in (both physically and psychologically safe). Listening to the individuals under your leadership and engaging them in the success of the team and the organisation day after day, can only lead to excellence in what they do both individually and collectively. Ultimately there will be no room left for cynicism within such organisation, but collective engagement and joy! This is a long journey, and the society has so much to gain from the shift, but great leaders are there to show the way and inspire others...
