A 'Bad' GM, unruly players, ridiculous chracters - what a great podcast
I have tried to listen to a number of RPG play podcasts and never really got on with any of them. Most either take themselves far too seriously, have atrocious sound quality or, such as Critical Role, might as well be an radio play, its so polished. GPOPA hits a perfect mid-point - they are funny but they take their roleplaying seriously (even tho their characters can often be ridiculous and very funny, they are not played purely for laughs), they have a high technical quality to be easy to listen to but not edited to within an inch of its life, and they are learning the rules along the way as much we the rest of us probably are. They make mistakes but never let that disturb the storytelling and the fun. Its genuinely a highlight of my week and its like catching up with a bunch of mates and enjoying hearing their stories. And chuck them for a few quid on the Patreon and come and join the Discord - come on in, the waters lovely...
