Brill if you like Pop/Rock History
I love this Podcast If you are of the baby boomer generation you will recall how Pop Music was treated as a trivial sideshow of the entertainment business .Now it's multi gazillion pound industry. Also how hard it was to access not only pop Music but to find accurate information about it other than trivia..e,g. "Paul loves Ice Cream and misses going on the bus" "George worries about going bald".etc. Times have changed Pop Music is a 24/7 affair and SERIOUS historians are now rewriting the accepted narrative and searching for the accurate truth, Accepted Narrative Example It seems the biggest hit of every major band is "we had 10 minutes left to record this throway we'd forgotten about and we did it in one take with three seconds to spare") I have heard this story so many times just insert appropriate hit. Anyway thanks Andrew for doing the research and giving us a clearer picture of a fascinating story. Also you make me feel like I'm not the only person in the World interested in it. Have to go ...only got five minutes to record my version of "Twist and Shout" Gerry Finn.Read full review »
