“I’ve been listening to this podcast since late 2019 when a musician friend recommended it to me and I have to say it’s one of the finest podcasts of the rock genre I’ve ever listened to. Each episode is extremely well researched and presented, with great song samples provided as examples. Even if you aren’t a fan of all the artists and songs presented, you’ll find yourself wanting to listen anyway as the evolutionary thread of rock music is traced from before its inception to what will eventually be current day (I hope). I’ve been an extreme rock music fan for about 50 years and I can’t think of anyone who has presented such a magnificent detailed discussion of the scene as Andrew Hickey. The fact that he releases one episode per week (at 30-45 minutes in length each) is amazing given that each episode’s quality is so good. If you like rock but don’t know a whole lot about its history, this is the best podcast I can think of for you to delve into. If you are a deep fan of rock, you’ll still learn something new on just about every episode. If there was an Academy Awards for podcasts, this would certainly get my vote.”
