Rock history done right
This is how you do it. Some might ding the host’s thick accent, but it has grown on me. Listen at 1.5x (or even faster) and binge on the most exhaustive, fun, and enlightening podcast about music. Like the best books about Elvis and the Beatles I’ve read, this is scholarly but never drags.

If you think you know about the history of rock, listen to Andrew Hickey’s podcast. You will undoubtedly learn something new with each episode. Of course, Hickey covers the obvious songs like Johnny B. Goode and Heartbreak Hotel but there also gems on more obscure songs like You Better Move On...Read full review »

Extensively researched, each episode thoroughly explores each song. No snowflake, as another listener alleges, the presenter manages to capture the spirit of the times, while also providing a 21st century perspective for younger listeners. This deserves a place in the British Library.
