fantastic overview of human history
I have listened to this podcast all the way through twice, and will probably do so again in the future. Each episode gives a quick glimpse into a particular human culture (many of which I knew little to nothing about, and some of which had never heard of), and taken together they paint a picture of the incredible range of human ingenuity over the millenia.

This is one of the most fascinating and informative programmes I have ever heard broadcast. You can see the objects with your ears and feel history with your mind. My only tiny criticism is the iritatingly repetitive and unnecessary theme music.

I'm an info junkie and I love story telling so this podcast is fun for me. I am not sure how they come to the conclusions they do for some of the objects, especially the 5000 year old ones, but that's anthropology: find an object from prehistory, figure out what it is and make up a story...Read full review »
