Very well done
I'm an info junkie and I love story telling so this podcast is fun for me. I am not sure how they come to the conclusions they do for some of the objects, especially the 5000 year old ones, but that's anthropology: find an object from prehistory, figure out what it is and make up a story to give it more depth and mystique. This podcast is an in depth tour through the museum directors favorite items and his enthusiasm is a clear indication that he loves his job. I think the study of ancient history is very important to humanity as we can learn much from our past mistakes and triumphs. This program makes for a very good listen as they are around 20 minutes long and can pique your interest enough to want to learn more on your own. I don't find myself looking for the objects on the website, however. it would be nice if the picture of the object came with the podcast, but hey, it's free and I can always go to their website to see them and I think that is what they want us to do.Read full review »

More reviews of A History of the World in 100 Objects
These short investigations of human civilization, viewed through the lens of an object from the British Museum's collection, are a fascinating introduction to history and anthropology. I'll be sorry to see it end. (I'm also totally psyched to go to the Museum someday!)Read full review »
