Best language show on NPR
My local NPR station doesn't play AWwW, but I sure wish it did. This show great, especially when it debunks dumb mavenisms with real usage. Like many reviewers, I do find it sappy in places, which I fear may be what's keeping it from broader NPR adoption: shows like WNYC's Radio Lab, or sorry-so-obvious This American Life, can be deeply engaging and entertaining while still also being fundamentally serious and nitty-gritty. AWwW seems to fall into a default mode of fluffy and shallow, only occasionally rising into the heights of This Is Why I Support Public Broadcasting. I'm still an avid listener, though, and you should be too.Read full review »
