Episode 28 FCT
The functional communication training (FCT) podcast episode helped me understand the components which go into developing FCT programs. Three articles were reviewed by Jackie, Robert, and Diana which go into detail about comparing epressive language training (ELT) to FCT in reducing problem behaviors, choosing FCT responses specific to the function maintaining the problem behavior, and the implementation of a lag schedule in addition to FCT to increase response repertoires. I found the articles useful for implementing effective FCT.
