“Sam and his cast of insightful guest stars have given the world exactly what it needs in this dark moment: Spongebob Talk Radio. After burning out on all my favorite podcasts during the pandemic, I finally started branching out and listening to new things once again. I found a decent podcast all about the Simpsons, Talking Simpsons, with Bob Mackey and Henry Gilbert. I really enjoyed their style and personalities but I just never was that into the Simpsons. It occurred to me that I ought to find commentary podcasts about my own favorite TV shows, and I was delighted to find this little show, all about the best three seasons of Spongebob! There's so much to appreciate about Stephen Hillenburg's creation, and all the work the writers have put into this extraordinary cartoon, but it's often quite hard to find adults who can share that appreciation. Sam, Morgan, Sarah, and countless other co-hosts have made a laid-back show that takes me back to one of the best parts of elementary school. They celebrate the iconic scenes, share all the background from production, and open the curtain about what makes this slapstick classic cartoon so insightful and relatable.
