“This podcast is very interesting, but I feel like there's something I'm missing. I understand that two juries didn't convict Bob, but in my mind that doesn't necessarily mean there's a mysterious killer on the loose. It just means there wasn't enough evidence to convict Bob. I guess I haven't heard (or I missed) why we the journalist is so skeptical of the police work in this case, and why she believes they should have started the investigation over when Bob was found not guilty. Maybe that's typical? I'm no expert. Anyway, super interesting listening, but until the host further explains (for laypeople like me) why she has such disdain for the police work, I'm going to keep squirming and feeling more empathy for the people she's interviewing than for her.
