“This podcast is honestly a great learning tool for young individuals like me who are looking for inspiration and knowledge. As someone who is a person of color, I have been exposed to diversity. Merk and Nyge however are relentless in their pursuit to broaden the listener’s information, in order to understand the perspective of others as well. Race, sports, politics, money management, comedy, love, and much more are presented by the two young and vibrant hosts. More importantly, we get the chance to hear these topics from the perspective of positive influencers who share the raw details of their experience to place things into fruition. In one of my favorite episodes “Her Ish” featuring olympic athlete Ibtihaj Muhammad, she discusses her struggle with depression while being on the US national team; citing her isolation from her peers on the basis of her identity. She found empowerment through her younger sister to help support her journey. An athlete's story is typically one of glory, Muhammad made me realize that even at the upper echelon of sports has a hosts of struggles that go beyond the sport itself. All in all, the title may seem like it is for us adults’ need to grow up, but I deny this by saying that it is an open space for everyone looking to expand their horizons.”Read full review »
