Cohosts obsessed with their obsessions
Wanted to love this podcast, but cohosts commentary on any topic is a consistent litany of their favorite stereotypes, things are phallic, or represent narrow views of modern thought on the past like everything being a didactic patriarchical treatise (even the children of woolpit and dragons) reducing everything to a college sophomore’s reading of the past after a few freshman courses. All interpretations represent modern stereotypes read back to the Middle Ages, Ancient Rome or Greece, with little to no sensitivity to different modes of thoughts or ideas that existed before modern theories about the past. It’s a tremendous disappointment.

More reviews of After Dark
I love History Hit and After Dark is a fantastic addition! Reginald Scot hasn’t been adequately covered and might be a really fun subject! Thank you!

Great topics in this fascinating show with really engaging hosts that clearly have a passion for the subjects they cover. I highly recommend binge-listening when out on a walk or when you want to drown out the noise of the mundane. Well done hosts 👏🏻👏🏻

This is factually incorrect. This was a scientific expedition not to find the Northwest Passage.
