“Love the podcast and how descriptive you guys lay everything out for employees. That being said, I have always had a push and pull relationship with HR and why they do what they do. Maybe something you can answer that I am stumped on. Why would HR elect not to pay sick time to a public safety employee during the Covid situation when the New Act states that Employers are not required to pay the sick time for the public safety employee falls under the criteria but states that employers should be cautious on declining to proving the sick time to the individual due to the possibility of the Covid -19 being spread? I don’t understand why the Act would incorporate that wording especially when public safety employees need the sick time more than the average employee. An explanation of the Act itself and who is covered is the main question I have I guess. Thanks again”
