Excellent podcast for an excellent show
It might be hard for younger people to understand how completely Woody Allen ruled the U.S. art-house landscape for domestic filmmakers during the 15 years beginning with Annie Hall. As such, it was hard to accept at the time that a man whose humanity appeared to be so apparent in this films could be guilty of the accusations made against him in the early 90s. The cultural discussions of gender, sexual harassment, and examination of coercing, grooming, and power dynamics in the past 30 years have opened the door for reappraisals of past accusations in the hope injustices can be addressed and the lives of those affected can find some peace. The HBO documentary series and this companion podcast are taking a fair look at the accusations then and now. The podcast itself is lively, to the point, filled with extras, and features informed guests. Well done!
