Not your father's congas
I'm a middle-aged woman and as German-American as they come, and to me, "Latin American Music" is pretty much what Ricky Ricardo played on I Love Lucy. I heard about this show on "Tell Me More" and decided to download a couple of podcasts. I was blown away. The hosts are delightful, personable and knowledgeable (they'll even admit when they didn't like a particular song, and why.) It's a wonderful exploration of music from all over the continent, but these 2 make the show. I like the fact that they just play segments from songs, and then link to them from their website if you want to hear more rather than just dropping the needle on an album and letting it play. (ok ok...I know nobody does that anymore.) Great show...keep it up and I'll keep listening!Read full review »

Very racist podcast. How ethnocentric and the opposite of inclusive.

I love this podcast. It's definitely one of my favorites. I love the variety of musical voices and perspectives that they bring to the program week after week. Keep up the excellent work. exitos y abrazos!Read full review »

I can listen to other NPR podcasts just fine in headphones or the car but Alt.Latino I must...Read full review »
