“So my husband and coworkers now realize I’m even more of a dork than they had imagined - it’s fine. I always loved American Girl, especially the OGs. Not only do I still get the catalog as a grown almost-34-year-old woman, but I have actually saved a few from my childhood. My 16 month old daughter is not quite old enough to be a cover for my doll and book obsession, but we’ll get there soon. Seriously, this podcast is everything I never knew I wanted. It’s a great blend of nostalgia, humor and history. I’ve really enjoyed going back and engaging with these books from an adult’s perspective. Insights from actual historians (not just self-appointed internet historians such as myself) bring everything full circle. And I’m really here for the pop culture tidbits (FYI watch the Hulu Fyre Fest doc - it’s better than the Netflix and after you read about who produced the Netflix one, you’ll understand why.) Always looking forward to the next episode.”
