I was looking for a spooky show and came upon your podcast. I’m on season two and am hooked. I’m ready to drive down to St. Louis to explore! I’ve been to a few Cubs/Cardinals games, but have not ventured out to the city, except for BBQ in Soulard. I’m looking forward to the following seasons.

The stories are okay, they could be longer. Less gab about the beer you’re drinking and all the other nonsense would make me stop hitting the skip button.

I’ve been bingeing the podcast . And love it.the only thing I hate is that I’m almost caught up and will have to wait for new episodes.

As a lifelong talk radio and audio story listener, this podcast has the “goods”. Starts with the host and the voice and the cadence etc etc. Not under produced and not over produced, but right where it needs to be. Love the pace, topics and overall storytelling. Worth the 5 stars and worth your...Read full review »

I stumbled on this podcast a couple weeks ago and was instantly hooked! I’m a history nerd and love learning things on all these places. I really loved the St. Louis season specifically the episodes on the Lemps and The Exorcism. Season 3 is really good as well and really peaks my Criminal...Read full review »

The actual story telling is pretty good. The banter after the story seems to always make jabs at X, Elon Musk, federal bureaucratic reductions, etc. If you believe in free speech or don’t want others political beliefs inserted into your life, this might not be the show for you.

I still think Troy is a very good storyteller (even got over the know it all persona), but turn it off as soon as Cody joins. I don't know if it’s the age difference, but it seems to take a dive into juvenile banter. A lot of upcoming events, self promotion and well, arrogance. Even though I...Read full review »

I began listening to this show for the history, stayed for the stories. The hardest part of listening to it however is the pretentiousness that Troy Taylor exudes in every episode. Flippantly dismissing anything he finds to be inaccurate he speaks as if he is the end all be all for anything...Read full review »

I love y’alls show. I stumbled on it by accident. I saw Troy on a documentary on titanic. I love his book without a trace and am looking forward to reading part 2. I love listening to the story and then listening to the discussion. Most podcasts just tell the story and that’s the end. I someday...Read full review »

As someone with ADHD, I’m not easily captivated by podcasts, even though I love them when I find the ones that I, um… love! I really love this one! Troy is an incredible researcher and storyteller, and there are no ads that I have to stop and skip through! And it’s still free. 🥹 I can’t tell you...Read full review »

I thought the writing for this podcast was really good. When I listening to Barbara Potts, I googled the story and then started reading the Wikipedia story out of interest. As I reading it, the story in the podcast was following it word for word. I kid you not… the podcaster is basically just...Read full review »

Season 4 episode 6 The birth of Jazz and the Red Light district I’m loving the season all about New Orleans. Question: Troy when you mentioned that the right light district in Chicago was called the levee, do you think that Don McLean may have been referring to the brothels being closed up, I...Read full review »

Love Troy's voice and story telling. Gotta admit...I only listen to his part. I skip the chit chat at the end. Edit: What's with the weird background music? He's got a great voice! Doesn't need the weird knocking sounds.Read full review »

I listened to the New Orleans season in preparation for a friends trip to the Big Easy and astonished them with all the knowledge I had learned from this podcast. Thanks to Troy and Cody I was dubbed the “tour guide” of our group. I love the format - if you’re short on time you can just listen to...Read full review »

Meh
So disappointed in this show. The actual talk about the various places is around 20-25 minutes on average. The rest of these is just two guys talking about other things spooky related. I was really looking forward to the stories from New Orleans because I love the city, and know it’s history....Read full review »

The first half narrative is well written and performed. The second half banter between the two hosts is entertaining.

I found this podcast several years ago when Troy was on Astonish Legends. Not long after I started listening to the Villisca season. Then went back to the St. Louis season. I was skeptical at first (like all good ghost hunters should be) but was hooked after the second episode. I love, love LOVE the show! I’m so sad that I don’t leave near y’all because I would love to do your tours! All of Troy’s info is well researched which makes them more interesting to listen to because even though he’s talking supernatural, he’s doesn’t over dramatize for drama’s sake. I love this podcast! I’m always looking for a show that combines history with a hint of spooky and this is it. It feels very well researched, Troy very much seems to love telling each story and respects that most of these “ghost stories” are about real people. He balances respect and excitement...Read full review »

Hi!
