One of my favorites
I have listened to a variety of paranormal podcasts over the last few years, and they tend to fall into two extremes. Some are overly dramatized, get bogged down in minutiae, lack clear direction, or turn into extended commercials. I generally don’t stick with these kinds of podcasts for more than a couple of episodes. On the other hand, there are podcasts that are entertaining, informative, and make you look forward to the new episodes with anticipation. American Hauntings is one such podcast; it’s one of the best out there. I’d like the fact that everything is based on history, as without it, it becomes difficult to explain what is going on with a location. I also very much appreciate the fact that Troy is a stickler for veracity. If something can’t be proven, or if it’s most likely apocryphal, he is quick to say that. Cody and Troy have done a fantastic job with this podcast, and it’s easily in my top three. And I listen to a lot of podcasts. Long commute. 😊

I found this podcast by accident. I had never heard of Alton, Illionois prior to listening to this. I enjoyed this, and can't wait for the second season. #deadofwinterRead full review »

Troy Taylor is a trusted source with research for us, so the fact that he is co-hosting a podcast is fabulous! I like the structure with Troy sharing the history and stories about hauntings of a particular location and then Cody joins him for a converstaion with a healthy dose of skepticism....Read full review »
