Compelling Story
Good first episode of American Prodigies! I know I’m going to feel a range of emotions this season, feeling joy for these women’s accomplishments and anger for the things they had to go through for being black and women. This is a story that needs to be told. I appreciate the host and athletes pulling back the curtain and shedding light on the black gymnast experience. This is going to be a season where I’m talking to my friends about each episode at the virtual water cooler. -SR

I first saw Adu in the United-Revs classic playoff game in 2004 and always wondered why he never became a star. I look forward to finding out. Wahl’s regular podcast is well-done and from the first episode of this one I’m sure this one will be great too.

I love that Grant frequently reminds us that Freddy was only FOURTEEN YEARS OLD! It is so abnormal for a child to have the pressure that Freddy had placed upon them. Fantastic pod thus far, with great insight from Freddy himself and lots of his closest confidants!
