Great Listen with a heavy shot of Nostalgia!
Really enjoyed Season 1 and learning the story and the trials that Freddy Adu faced but hearing Jr’s story and learning insight behind a childhood idol of mine and many like me was exceptional. As a life long Orioles fan that image of Jr hitting on of the Warehouse in Baltimore is engrained in my childhood memories, along with the countless hours mimicking his smooth left handed swing in the backyard (despite being right handed) and craving the opportunities to visit my best friend so we could battle each other on Ken Griffey Baseball on his N64. Thank you for putting this all together and stirring up a lot of fond childhood nostalgia for me in the process. Twitter: @bjunkin87

More reviews of American Prodigy
My favorite bit so far is the fight over the number 11. Says it all about the perils of being so brilliant and having so much on your shoulders. No one could remain unaffected. I’m a football fan so this is a great behind the scenes look at it through the eyes of a child prodigy.

As good as Grant is at talking about the sport, he’s so much better at telling the story of people. Highlights are hearing about Bradenton (I’ve never really read or listened about it before) and the machinations of MLS getting Freddy to DC United.
