Great soccer podcast
I’m really loving American Prodigy: Freddy Adu. It chronicles the rise and, presumably, fall of the boy who should have been America’s first soccer superstar. My favorite part so far is the disagreement over jersey numbers with Alecko Eskandarian at DC United. The best parts so far remind me of my all-time favorite soccer podcasts, American Fiasco and Throwback, which Grant Wahl did with Sports Illustrated. I wasn’t paying much attention to soccer in 2004, so I’m excited to hear what happens next.

Loving the podcast so far through two episodes. Fascinating look at Freddy and the early days of MLS. Can’t believe his own coach two-footed him in the very first DC United practice when Freddy was just 14!

I like soccer podcasts, especially soccer podcasts about the past. This is a great way to reflect on a missed opportunity for soccer in the US and the growing pains of the professional domestic league.
