Good but worrying
Frustrating beyond words to hear Jon Sopel recount Trump’s claim that he’s done more for black Americans than any president since Lincoln, and ask, ‘so what was his rationale for saying that?’ If you’re still using words like ‘rationale’ when talking about Trump, you haven’t been paying attention for the last 4 years. Trump has truly stumped the BBC. To be fair, it’s a genuine dilemma. How do you report on a president when the president is an idiot?

I can’t honestly believe someone as bright as Jon Sopel is as un-opinionated as he comes across in this podcast, so I assume it’s the BBC obsession with “balance” that leads to the tone of uncertainty in this show.
