It’s OK but could be loads better
Generally informative and I have a lot of time for these two excellent BBC journalists but the ‘Maitlis and Sopes’ shtick is already tiresome. I’d be more likely to build a connection with Jon and Emily, than riding the banter express with Maitlis and Sopes. Also, why the constantly overlapping each other with interjections? It’s like you’re just getting into some good insight and then the other one butts in with an entry level question or moves it on before we ever get to the deeper insight we want. It’s very frustrating. Give each other the space to dig deeper, that’s what I came for. This podcast has so much potential, but at the moment it’s not really happening. I appreciate it should be accessible but at the moment it’s in danger of being superficial, and in turn, that would make it not worth anyone’s time. Keep working on it though, it could be great.

More reviews of Americast
As a loyal Brexitcaster, I was idly fantasizing about an Electioncast-style podcast covering the US presidential race when, lo and behold, Americast pops up on my feed with the same fusion of witty insight and informative chat. Loving this team! Instant hit. Well done and thanks!

Four hour podcast - great idea! It always feels too short
