I used to love this podcast - it got me into podcasts in the first place! The original format ran out very early on when Jarlath ran out of Irishmen living abroad. After acknowledging the faux pas in the title, he moved onto Irish women. Then he interviewed people with no Irish connection whatsoever. The interviews can be interesting still, and Jarlath asks good questions, but his style is difficult to take sometimes. He doesn't seem genuine for some reason. It needs a revamp or else it will go stale. Or perhaps it should be retired and Jarlath start a new venture. He is on the frontier as the first generation of Irish podcasters so its up to him to figure out how to do that! Otherwise the tide will turn and he'll be left behind.Read full review »

I'm seriously impressed with the standard of the podcast. Jarlath avoid the gimmicky and shallow aspects of the 'famous' Irish expat cliché, and the result is engaging conversations that I feel I can relate to as an average guy.Read full review »
