Scott needs to settle back
After listening to episode 7 I'm starting to think that Scott is a real problem for this podcast because he won't let Harris host the show the way he wants to. Scott is great as the host of CBB, and it’s his network, so he kind ends up commanding the show reigns away from Harris and becomes the defacto host. He doesn't allow himself to settle back and be the show's guest/subject. In episode 7 he bullied his way up as the more of the host of the show in a very overt way. Muttering over his breath that he didn't think having callers was a good idea in the middle of having callers felt awkward and beat down the spirit of the show making me, as the listener, feel lousy and uncomfortable. Pointing out failures as they're happening is sort of the alt comedy thing to do, but this show has shown itself to reach past the basic comedy nerd listeners that Earwold has. Besides, the way they talked over every caller (who clearly couldn't hear them well enough because there was a noise gate on the callers' side) it was more of Harris and Scott's fault the call weren't working. But I think the biggest problem that points out that Scott is too controlling of the show (when he is supposed to be the guest) is the fact that he won't let Harris play through an entire Phish song. The show runs over an hour every time so if they played only one 8-10 minute song in the episode with running commentary it wouldn't remove entertainment value like Scott thinks. Besides every episode of Sklarbro and old CBR's have about the same amount of music played over the same amount of time; so what's the problem, Scott? Take a back seat for one hour. (PS. I'm not a Phish fan at all and only listen to this show as a fan of Earwolf.)Read full review »

I learned two things from this podcast. Harris Wittels was a delightful and talented human being that needed serious help for addiction. And Scott Aukerman is a rude a-hole with the attention span of a 5 year old. That’s the biggest reason he can’t get into Phish. He’s just kind of miserable....Read full review »

This podcast is for both Phish and non Phish fans. Harris and Scott explore the cosmos. Sorry. The only bad part is that there won't be anymore episodes. R.I.P. HarrisRead full review »
