Nice try
Start off on the the positive, it’s well researched and fairly entertaining. I understand the need to be entertaining but if I hear toxic masculinity mentioned one more time I may get seriously “raggy.” The complete and total brainwashing of the two hosts is absurd. They absolutely can’t understand anything if it is not viewed through the lens of gender and critical race theory. The last straw was really the Spartacus episode, to insist the the Thracians could have been nonwhite is again absurd- as especially if you mentioned that they are noted to be red haired, blue eyed. Then they insisted that his army must have been more diverse than the celts, Gauls and the Scythians and thracians, yes because now all these people are white and totally the same. That history should tell you how stupid race theory is, ie they enslaved people who were the same color as them. You have no proof the romans held any slaves who were “Africans”, so quite possible that there was no diverse. They wouldn’t understand what you meant when you called them racist as that is a 20 century invention. If you want history, skip this one.

Just finished the Hadrian’s Wall episode and had to write a review. Most of the episodes fill gaps in topics I thought I knew a lot about. It’s a must listen if your a history buff. I will be getting on their Patreon as well. Ginger solidarity

History is it’s own theater, right? These true ancient stories make Hamlet look normal! I love the episodes I’ve listened to so far about doomed Roman child emperors and mutinous guards. It’s a topic I’ve read and watched a lot about, but didn’t know so many of these details! I would love to see...Read full review »
