Ben Evans has some good takes on tech. Pithy one-liners like “Amazon is a bundle” and “AI is software that doesn’t work yet”. Toni is a pretty poor podcaster host but a good foil for Ben. Generally worth a listen and as an aside it’s amusing to see another one of those guys who can’t seem to...Read full review »

Benedict is razor sharp, I always enjoy hearing him pull apart technology trends. Definitely worth listening to if you’re interested in tech.

Ben and Toni always provide interesting and thoughtful analysis - 5 stars for that. My only challenge is that I struggle to hear it. I listen to several other podcasts so I don’t think the issue is with my headphones. I just can’t seem to get it loud enough, especially if I increase the speed....Read full review »

The subject matter of this podcast is well informed and intelligent, but whether you like it will depend on your attitude to Ben. He's a tremendous narcissist of the English upper class type, with familiar foibles e.g. talks over Toni, even when she agrees with him. At other times she gets...Read full review »

Great pod. Toni is an amazing host AND guest!!!!

It’s something of a give to talk about ‘going up’. I think Mr Evans enjoys being the cleverest person on his podcast rather too much. His analysis is often sophisticated and nuanced. But he needs more editorial control. His co-host is smart and should interact and challenge more.

I really enjoy it, but Benedict you need to get a real microphone! It sounds like you’re just using your laptop’s built in microphone

If you can get over Ben’s fascination with his own voice, the talking over his co-host, the obligatory I-worked-at-A16Z-did-you-forget-about-that-since-the-last-time-I-mentioned-it, and the general smugness, then yea, it’s pretty entertaining.

Love listening to this podcast and hearing the perspectives of both hosts. It truly opens my mind to a macro level of thinking. I hope to hear more episodes soon!

A weekly opportunity to listen to in depth discussion of some aspect of technology Benedict Evans and Toni Cowan Brown. They always have an interesting topic of discussion devoid from the swivel eyed tech optimism or doomsday scenarios present in a lot of tech commentary. Sign up for Benedict...Read full review »

I think I could appreciate the insights and commentary Benedict provides, but it’s annoying listening to someone's voie for 30-45 minutes with an ever-present echo. Please try improving the audio quality (Toni sounds great).Read full review »

This isn’t a review of Toni Cowan Brown because, well, I’ve scarcely heard her speak on this pod. She is reduced to a supporting role of hmms and hahs while Ben Evans drones on and on, churning out the same repetitive catchphrases. Some of them might seem like insights at first, but they dissolve...Read full review »

I enjoy learning from both hosts on a variety of subjects. But, please attend to audio hygiene issues! Ep 16 (big preso) had microphone impacts that sounded like bombs going off while I listened! Wasn’t expecting that.... Ep 17 (Amazon) has mobile phone interference. Kindly switch to airplane...Read full review »

Please invest in a better mic and work on your speech clutter. Otherwise lots of insights and brilliant arguments.

Absolutely recommend. One of the smartest guys in tech, and you get a peek into his analytical mind without the self-serving, hyperbolic, smug Silicon Valley vibe that often goes with it.

Really enjoying the podcast. Benedict is one smart dude! No where else will you find an expert covering tech and how the leading tech companies are evolving and what it means for the future. Don’t miss this!!!!!

Is Benedict really that ignorant about Canada, or just gratuitously trying to be offensive? As you likely know that Penguins are almost exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere, I assume the latter.
