We had a great chat with Axelle Carolyn (THE MANOR, The Haunting of Bly Manor), who created the horror anthology TALES OF HALLOWEEN. She tells us how she pulled that together and then went on to direct a ton of great television episodes! We also discuss the best Halloween haunts in the LA area!

Marc Benardin (Star Trek: Picard, Castle Rock) and Tiffany Smith (Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3, Masters of the Universe: Revelation and Revolution) are doing a kickstarter for their horror anthology RIGHT NOW so we thought this would be a great time to talk to them about anthologies, raising money, and the journey from idea to execution. This wide-ranging talk gets into Marc's journey from journalist to filmmaker, Tiffany's evolution as an actress, and a ton of other interesting topics....

Old Chief Wood'nhead. The Lake Blob. The Extremely Persistent Hitchhiker. This is the second podcast we've done on this movie for both of us, and I swear I know these villains better than I know my own family. This anthology isn't perfect, but there's a lot to like-- namely the much-praised "The Raft", which many consider the best Creepshow segment overall. This is an interesting anthology for us to dissect cause the flaws are very very obvious. Will we learn from (checks notes) Michael...

Ed's back to tell Brea how Frightfest went. We also discuss post, what we've been watching lately, the rest of MLM's fest run, and songs you associate with production. Tbh this is a pretty loose episode, don't hold it against us!

Brea and Ed talk to Eric Stolze (THE STYLIST, NIGHT OF THE WOLF) about the writing process and how to write when you have a day job!

Rebekah McKendry is a director, podcaster, and a film professor at USC! She's also one of the first people we spoke to before embarking on this quest, so this is us coming full circle. What can we say about Rebekah? She is completely brilliant and you'll learn a lot from this conversation. We know we did! She's not only a great filmmaker who debuted with the xmas horror anthology ALL THE CREATURES WERE STIRRING, she somehow knows every horror film ever made. Seriously what a guest with a...

They ducked this one for centuries, but now it is finally time to talk about the movie-- what went right, what went wrong, and everything in between! There will be funny stories, controversial statements, interpersonal conflict, and tips and tricks for becoming a better director! OK maybe I'm overselling it but we do tell stories here we won't be telling at any Q&A so tune in for this episode of anthology (anthology).

Well it's time to watch another Stephen King-related anthology and holy cow this movie turned us into LITTLE GREMLINS! Seriously is this movie way better than we all remember? Is this the new gold standard we need to reach for? Do cats really steal the breath of babies?! Also we got the name of the short CURVE wrong here-- we thought it was called RAMP. It's from 2016 and will be linked in the show notes!

Post-shoot depression! The ephemeral nature of production friendships! The question we all dread in Q&As! What a delightful conversation we had with Jill Gevargizian AKA Jill Sixx, director of THE STYLIST and GHOST GAME, who we've been on the same festival circuit with

Brea and Ed finally reunite! But we're not ready to talk about the shoot yet-- so instead we discuss CREEPSHOW (1982)! Did you know this is the most successful anthology of all time (in terms of theatrical box office, anyway)? Should topping this be our aspirational target with GRIND?! Why doesn't Father's Day hit like the rest of them? Is the The Crate the best segment by far? Is Stephen King one of the great comedic actors of our time? Who wants cake more? All of these questions will be...

Wow that's a lot of animals in one episode! Anthony Cousins was our key grip on GRIND and MLM and directed the found footage horror film FROGMAN as well as segments of SCARE PACKAGE 1 & 2. He talks about his run of viral shorts that put him on the map and a whole bunch of other great filmmaking topics. Next up is an interview with Austin music legend Thor Harris, who acts in Brea's segment DELIVERY. Ed talked to Thor during the shoot about a wide range of topics including the movie GRIND,...

Ed returns as we discuss the classic anthology film TWILIGHT ZONE (THE MOVIE). Which segments succeed and which segment fails so hard that people die?! Well you probably already know the answer to that one, but we think this is a fun episode with an unusually large (for us) amount of research behind it. It's one we recorded before production, so you might get the sense it's in the past. Because it is! We'll be back next week with a post-mortem on the shoot. Thank you to all the people who...

In our last installment of Brea's on set interview quadrilogy, she talks to "Union Meeting" stars Ify Nwadiwe (host of Um, Actually on Dropout) and Aubrey Shea (Jem and the Holograms, Unconventional.) Lots of great talk about building fully-realized characters and life on set and the current state of indie filmmaking. Both of these interviews are pretty fascinating! And I can say that cause this is Ed writing this and not Brea praising herself. We've just wrapped the film and will be back for...

It's a star-studded episode as Brea talks to James A. Janisse (DEAD MEAT), James Paxton (LAST TRAIN TO FORTUNE, TWISTERS), and Teri Gamble (MRS. DAVIS) on the set of our segment "Union Meeting". Lots of great talk about acting and the filmmaking process. It's wild that we're already almost done with the principal shoot for GRIND. We'll have one more episode of interviews and a movie review as Brea wraps up her segment, and then we'll have an epic post-mortem episode where ALL WILL BE REVEALED!!
