Some koynd of genius
I listen to a lot of podcasts to pass hours of introversion drawing so I often need something to listen to for the claustrophobically inclined. From the first episode and teaser I was really drawn in. Archive 81 paints an ominous grey tone with glitches from different speakers. The ominous gaps between multiple narratives instills a feeling of disorienting fear that recalls the Blair Witch Project but also a subtle unsettling tone marked ambiguity that makes me recall H.P. Lovecraft's "The Shadow over Innesmouth". It's the kind of introverted and intimate terror marked that one can feel when in a house around the time the sun is going down, when recognizable forms take on a new menace in looming shadows. It's the darker side of noir and the lighter side of horror. Archive 81 creates voids and monolithic forms all in one through cavernous soundscapes and sparse narration. The space between discernible forms of understanding is where the mind's unease grows like weeds in a garden and the creators of Archive 81 understand it's usage and allow it to move organically like the echo of a choir through the even the smallest corners in a cathedral.Read full review »

I have listened to sneak peek versions of the episodes to come and I promise they'll be worth the wait. The sound design is really creepy and unsettling and the story blows away every other horror podcast around.
