Description
Welcome to the Areni Global podcast. Today’s episode What the Future Holds for Fine Wine Secondary Market: In Conversation with James Miles and Justin Gibbs explores the world of fine wine through the lens of Liv-ex—the London International Vintners Exchange. ARENI Global hosts’ Pauline Vicard and Felicity Carter sit down in conversation with Miles and Gibbs, discussing the growth of Liv-ex, the logistics, hurdles, technology, the expected growth of the Exchange, and so much more.
More about Liv-ex
Liv-ex was founded by two stockbrokers, James Miles and Justin Gibbs, who had the idea to build an online stock exchange for wine. They took their vision to the London Wine Trade Fair in 2000, along with an eye-catching Jeroboam of Mouton Rothschild, and launched the business.
The introduction of the Internet made an electronic marketplace viable for a niche market like fine wine, bringing a fragmented industry together in one place and offering the potential to make wine trading significantly more transparent, efficient and safe for everyone’s benefit.
