Our fourth episode is about Ted Kotcheff’s outback fever dream, ‘Wake in Fright’ (1971). Supposedly a film that set back Australian tourism by 25 years, ‘Wake in Fright’ is full of beer, sweat, kangaroos, and men. Lots and LOTS of men. Enjoy! After our (extremely) long hiatus, we are back and we’re bad! This week’s episode is on Han Hyeong-mo’s ‘Madame Freedom’ (1956), dubbed as both South Korea first blockbuster & “the most controversial film in korean cinematic history”. Think deception, melodrama and postwar jazz !! (link to the film is in our linktree as ever) 🇰🇷
