“As my painting classes are suspended, I was looking for a good podcast about art to listen to, and frankly, they’re hard to find if you want to go beyond a description of an artist’s life or one painting.
I found Art Attack, and I listen daily (I found it last Monday, so that’s why). The vibe during the podcast is great, Lizzy and Justin are fun and SO knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Love, love, love it. It’s not just painters or photography, it’s about anything related to the art world which makes it very inspiring and curiosity-inducing!
I love the scope of their subjects, and the fact that I don’t need to have the art piece in front of me as I’m listening (I look it up still, but it sucks if I’m listening while doing groceries and can’t follow the podcast because there’s no visual, as with some podcasts).
I would love to hear about Stadsgezicht op Delft by Vermeer some time, but hey, I’m listening anyway as it makes me smile and feel good anyway. Also, huge fan of Sorrolla and the Russian Wanderers, which I can’t seem to find any good books or podcasts about.
