Incredibly knowledgeable pair, with different perspectives. A privilege to listen in on their exchanges, so informative. Wish they would resume publishing.

Really enjoyed the podcast, it’s fun and can get the average Joe into the world of art. Would of given it 5 stars if it was longer and went into more history of the artists interaction with each other or talked a bit more of them, just feels a bit rushed. Not sure if it’s a time thing but 45...Read full review »

Thank you for a great show. Listen to all your episodes. The best Art show ever. 👏👏👏👏

I am currently binge listening these episodes. In my opinion its a great way to learn about all the artists mentioned. As someone who fell out of love with art at college when it became apparent that what you said was more important than what you created I find myself cheering Bua's rants but...Read full review »

Great content cheapened by the opening theme. Love the passion of both hosts and points of view.

I love listening to this podcast and was looking for an informative art podcast that was still lighthearted and entertaining. I keep coming back for more! I LOVE Lizy and can’t get enough of her knowledgeable, passionate discussions. Justin gets a bit dismissive at times, but I still love what...Read full review »

Lizy is great, and I would happily take a course or listen to a podcast from her. BUA’s bullying sexism about female artists that he won’t even try to understand makes this a very difficult listen. When the artist is an immigrant, woman of color, and you dismiss her as just the attention seeking...Read full review »

I’m a self taught, neurodiverse artist that has always struggled with talking/writing about my work and I wanted to thank you for your amazing podcast. Listening to you talk about some of my favourite artists has helped me understand how to express some of the concepts and feelings that I had...Read full review »

By far my favorite podcast (which I listen to while making art)! I’ve learned so much from Lizy and Bua - really appreciate Lizy’s contemporary/feminist perspective and focus on context. And Bua’s (often dissenting) viewpoint and humor! Great chemistry between the two. Please do more episodes as...Read full review »

These two have a great dynamic and I love the strong opinions. The intro music at the beginning is a bit off-putting, but push through - it’s worthwhile 👌

I’m a lifetime art lover, and I’m really happy that I found this refreshingly informative Podcast. I grew up outside of Manhattan and grew up visiting museums in the City. Though I’m not an artist, I’ve spent the next 30 years in New York and Boston studying/enjoying art. The directness of...Read full review »

Art attack keeps me going! Its one of my main sources of inspiration and energizing outlets that I thrive off of as an artist. You guys teach me so much about art history while giving great insight of the discourse on todays art as well as its reaction to history. Your podcast simultaneously...Read full review »

In all honestly I only listened to one episode so maybe they were having a bad day but I was so uncomfortable the whole time. Lizy was so charming and needs her own show but I was cringing the whole episode listening to Justin shut down all her opinions. I can’t handle his pretentiously too cool...Read full review »

Hi Lizy and BUA, Just want to say thank you for making this podcast. Perfect for when I’m out for walks with the dog or on the bus. The cursing of the male presenter distracts and ruins the appreciation of what should be an otherwise interesting podcast.
Blixa the cat via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/22/20
Lizy is alright and actually brings some information about artists to the conversation, but if I wanted to listen to a pretentious street artist interrupt a woman every few minutes I’d find a community college MFA program.
Tree Trev via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/14/20
I cannot believe how much I love this show! Lizy in particular is absolutely addictive and I highly recommend. You’d be an art fool not to listen!
Whitestreak1014 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/12/20
I really wanted to like this podcast but I just can’t subject myself to a man interrupting a woman over and over again. When Bua is replaced, let me know.

I’ve had the luck of being introduced to Art Attacks this last February, 2020. Each episode is about thirty minutes of knowledge from Art Historian/Professor Elizabeth Dastin and Artist Justin Bua. I’ve been really grateful for their discussions. It’s a free education on the world of art, which...Read full review »

If you’re having a Art Attack this Podcast is your defibrillator. Lizzy and Justin compliment each other really well with humor ,wit, and Intellect. Listened to the episode on Yayoi Kusama - could not finish it. Lizy commentary and passion were very appreciated and educating, and all Justin did was say “idk about that” at all of her interpretations - after admitting that contemporary art is not his field. As my painting classes are suspended, I was looking for a good podcast about art to listen to, and frankly, they’re hard to find if you want to go beyond a description of an artist’s life or one painting. I found Art Attack, and I listen daily (I found it last Monday, so that’s why). The vibe...Read full review »

Thanks for making a podcast that’s easily digestible and not full of overly intellectualized and academic art hoopla. It’s intelligent and well done without making my brain hurt.

I've listened to half of these in just a few months and I can't get enought. An informative, well-balanced podcast hosted by two people with great, and at times opposing, perspectives on art. I enjoy some of the banter and pace of the show. Sometimes there is definitely some incorrect information, and Bua is pretty arrogant and sometimes straight rude about types of art he deems “inferior.”

When I first started listening to art-related podcasts, I focused on The Lonely Palette and ArtCurious; while I still love each of them, they miss one key element: a diversity of opinion. Great info, good back and forth between hosts. Justin is the curmudgeon who thinks art should be limited to what curators think is art, and Lizzy is more lax and accepting of all art forms. Interesting dynamic since he is the artist and she’s the instructor ! Scarcity mindset vs abundance mindset 👍

One small point, sometimes though guy must turn his head away from the microphone when he’s talking because his voice fades out, when this happens it mimics the fade out that an iPhone does when a call comes through, drives me nuts
