“Jennifer Dasal is an excellent storyteller with a knack for seizing upon some of the more interesting narratives in the history of art and retelling them in a way that is entertaining and accessible. Granted, I studied art history in grad school and work in an art museum. However!-- there is a lot that I do not remember, and the majority of stories she narrates come from time periods I did not spend a lot of time with in my studies as a medievalist. That said, I'm kind of picky about the art history I encounter in the world, whether in novels or elsewhere. I often cringe when I watch clunky art historical references in movies or TV shows. I had to stop reading the book "Loving Frank" because it was excruciating to me. Artcurious does not make me cringe. It makes me smile, laugh, and feel.
