Studio Sound Track
I was introduced to Artist Decoded a couple of years ago by friend and artist Dillon Samuelson.  AD has been my go-to podcast for studio listening since then. What separates AD from other visual arts podcasts (at least for me) is that the conversation takes place between two artists that often don't share the same media as a practice.  In other words, you don't often have two painters taking shop.  Instead, you may have a photographer interviewing a painter, or a director interviewing a printmaker.  This changes the dynamic of the conversation so that both parties have to more creative with their language and use of analogy when talking about ideas or materials that are specific to a particular practice. I  learn more about various kinds of artistry.  The flow of the podcast is closer to a conversation than an interview, which I like.Read full review »
