Herrings latest project
Not really a fan of sketches in modern comedy, but I've really enjoyed what I've heard so far. Rich is clearly on top form and, although his style in his standup and the C&H podcast is different to whats on display here, there's still a healthy dose of intelligence in the gags that shines through. Yes, it feels a bit light in places but thats the very point of doing a completely unedited show - to leave in the bits that don't quite work. In the long term, it will be interesting to see how the bits that fall a bit flat effect the following weeks content. And anyway, if the show was as good as a heavily-edited comedy sketch show, then it may as well just be edited. To fully appreicate this podcast you have to love the good and the bad! If I was going to offer any advice (not to assume that my opinion is worth anything here) I would personally like to see a greater element of simple chat between the guests and the host on various subjects, as Rich is particularly sharp in those situations and I think it would add to the overall comedy. I don't think it quite deserves 5 stars just yet but by the end of the run I think it will reach those heady heights of the 5th star.Read full review »

Richard Herring is a daring and inventive comic. This podcast puts his talents on display in both sketch form and semi-stand up routines without the restriction of tv and radio censors. Much fun.

Imagine the face of The Now Show. Now imagine a boot. Stamping down on it and smashing it, splintering bone and smearing gore, repeatedly, now, forever until the end of time. Well done all concerned, a jolly good show.
