At the end of the October 30 episode, Chaya Leah mentioned that Yael have reads every review. So, for Yael, שלום יעל! And for Chaya Leah, if it’s not too late to say this, have a וט געבענטשט יאר! (In my house we use both Ivrit and Ivris. Chaya Leah, please explain that joke to Yael.)

Chaya Leah and Yael are by turns charming, thoughtful, funny, and irreverent. They alternate between interviewing fascinating guests and chatting à deux. Sometimes deeply serious, sometimes delightfully shallow. Always heartfelt. I never miss an episode.

So funny and relatable. Very much enjoy listening!

Came for the nuanced discussion of Israel, but could not stomach the use of ableist slurs (are you seriously still using that word in 2024?) and the long-winded discussions about subjects the hosts know nothing about, and about which they seem to have very little interest in learning.

Vile stuff. It’s one thing to use gallows humour about religion and war and antisemitism, but this? Can’t believe I have to say it. I liked you guys. You should have edited your podcast. (Edited) Also: hey Yael, let Chaya talk about her safari. You interfered with all sorts of noises and your...Read full review »

i don’t generally like “banter” podcasts but i really love these two, and i love how diverse the guests are and that i never know who they’re going to have on, but it will be an interesting and refreshingly honest conversation. and funny! and often really moving while still being irreverent and...Read full review »

One of my favorite podcasts! Absolutely love listening and look forward to each episode because the gals are so funny and smart. Heard of this podcast from Smoke ‘Em (which I heard of from The Fifth Column). Just subscribed today but have been listening for a while! Keep it up, ladies! :))

I love Yael and Chaya Leah! I’m a modern traditional Jew (yes, it makes sense in my head) and I relate to a lot what they talk about. They address all of the current issues with just the right combination of sass and nuance. I discovered Chabad when we moved to overseas with the military to China...Read full review »

Yael and Chaya Leah have such a natural chemistry that they're fun to listen to no matter what they're talking about. Which ranges mostly from the Torah to hot guys to the Holocaust. Definitely worth a listenRead full review »

I absolutely love listening to the two of you and wish I could be your friend. I am not Jewish or religious but have found so much meaning in your conversations, pre and post October 7th. didn’t feel too Jewish before October 7. Then I like all Jews was thrown into his ancient struggle. Which has only been made bearable by shows like this! come for the solidarity, stay for the holocaust jokes.

Great podcast. My only complaint is that you don’t spend enough time making jokes about seriously ill members of the royal family. As far as I’m concerned, you should have made more jokes—extra offensive ones—AFTER you found out Kate has cancer. Save a few for when she dies though.

I just listened to you guys say you aren’t sure if your podcast is good for anyone, and I just wanted to say that it’s good for me. You guys are my best/only friends since 10/7. Love, diaspora Jew in (il)liberal America

Love these two! They have the uncanny ability to say what’s on my mind. The weekly kibitz and kvetch I need. As Sholem Aleichem famously said, “Laughter is the best medicine”. My recommendation to all Jews and non-Jews is to start dosing up. 💊💉✡️❤️

Love the guests and the hosts. I love that there are two lovely Jews from different backgrounds who speak candidly with each other. I love that they say the things I am feeling, making me feel less alone and more empowered.

Your interview with Jamie Kirchick was so good. Whenever someone has a new book and you listen to so interviews with them, you don’t expect a really new take. You two gave Jamie the space to say things he couldn’t say on other podcasts, and I’m grateful to each of you for making that happen.

this show has been such a balm over the past few months — Yael and Chaya Leah are funny and real and honest — and they make so many of us feel so much less alone in the chaos of our emotions.

This show covers a host of topics and sheds a lot of light into the different sects of Judaism, including the good the bad and the ugly. The hosts are open minded, willing to learn from each other and to share with the world.

Chaya Leah and Yael know how to have fun talking off the cuff about serious matters and the not-so-serious. An excellent line up of guests - hoping several will be invited back. You just might occasionally ask a jew and learn something or just be surprised.

Chayaleah and Yael bring a light and fun take on everything current events to Jewish related topics. When I listen to their episodes, you can bet I have a smile on my face. Their happiness and laughter is contagious. Can’t wait for more content!
