Good Content, But Pretentious
This podcast covers a lot of good content for the new pilot just getting into the sUAS and drone world. I do like the range of subjects covered, and generally information is accurate. I do have a few critiques of the show however... First, sometimes the information is not accurate. The hosts really seem to shoot from the hip and not plan out these podcasts very well. This has lead to multiple instances where information is presented as fact, however I know it to be untrue. This can be dangerous if people take this show to present absolute fact and don't do research themselves. As always, make sure you know the regs, don't rely on others to know them for you. Secondly, maybe it's just me, but these guys can come off as very pretentious. I've been a regular listener for about 5 months now and have heard the hosts talk down on a lot of people and professions. For example, I'm an airline pilot and a Part 107 licensed sUAS pilot, so suffice to say I know a thing or two about the FAR's and the national airspace system (NAS). However, on more than a few occasions I've heard these guys talk down on manned aircraft pilots and the airlines. For example, on one episode the host was talking about the money to be made flying an sUAS commercially, he said something along the lines of "I know airline pilots that spent years going to school and work for JetBlue and American that only make $30 an hour" - untrue. I won't get into the nitty gritty, but suffice to say an American or JetBlue pilot, no matter how junior, is not making $30 an hour. Another example is when one of the hosts was admitting to and condoning and the practice of breaking airline policies and Federal law regarding large LiPo batteries in carry-on baggage. The attitude was something along the lines of "if you don't admit to it, how will they ever know?”. Now to be fair generally these guys encourage safety and discourage breaking the rules and unsafe behavior, but due to their off the cusp answers to questions they often answer emotionally and sometimes admit to and condone breaking the regulations. It's as if they have a chip on their shoulder regarding the FAA and airlines. Anyway, that's the reasoning I deducted a few stars. Generally good content, but as always be weary of blindly trusting any self-proclaimed "experts". Read and know your FAR's. Like an old ground instructor once told me - "Learn them, live them, love them".Read full review »

An interesting podcast about drones. The info goes on a LOT about Part 107 and the USA laws which is fair enogh as they are USA based. They can act scripted sometimes and certainly don't mind pushing their own barrow of products. If you listen, they are actually learning better ways of...Read full review »
