I really liked some of the actual content but the amount of ads is crazy. 6 minutes of continuous ads at the end of the latest episode? What?

jumping jiminy that’s a lot of ads. you guys must be rich. you got that snl money

I listen to hundreds of podcasts, and Astonishing Legends has become a favorite. No hyperbole or people who think they are funny, deep dives worth taking into even familiar subjects. But good lord, Richard Hatem, what a bombastic moron. He is so pleased with himself. I cannot deal with that man.

Longtime listener, and I can hardly believe that such an awesome podcast can possibly even be improved upon. I am loving Deadletter Office as an addition to the already amazing content. Can’t wait for the next installment, and also digging that the intro music reminds me of Angelo Badalamenti’s...Read full review »

My husband introduced me to the show a few episodes in to their first year and we’ve been listening ever since. I love the broad range of topics and GREATLY appreciate the level of research. I think some people have gotten used to the short bits of information given on other podcasts (like blurbs...Read full review »

I don’t always agree with the hosts, but the research is absolutely top drawer and well presented. I have been listening for a while, and just listened to the SS Kamloops episode; I may never sleep again. Holy moly, what a show!
Bessnan via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 10/07/24
Early episodes are great; recent ones rambling and tough to listen to. Overall quality of podcast has declined with increase in the focus on the presenters. Just present the topic and discuss. Far too much random banter and self-fluffing. Show has completely sold out for the $$

I was raised on Art Bell and George Noory, so I feel like paranormal shows are a bit conferring — call it nostalgia for the times when my family and I would listen to the radio and hear stories about bigfoot. This is no different, and it take me right back to those memories. I love this show! It...Read full review »

The ads and banter used to be tolerable, but over the last year or so it’s become so bad it’s not even worth listening to anymore. There’s plenty of other podcasts that fill the same role without having so many advertisements it feels like a cable TV show.

Love the deep dives and tangents - reminds me of my Dad.

I’m a journalist and these guys do an amazing amount of research! As a sailor I particularly enjoyed the tragic tale of the SS Kamloops on Lake Superior and its ghostly crew

This show has too many commercials that run too long and the show itself is stuffed with ridiculous extraneous and unnecessary information that doesn’t pertain to the topic, it is just garbage meant to pad the runtime. I’d recommend Expanded Perspectives and/or Mysterious Universe. When they get...Read full review »

The best thing about this show was the cover art to lure you in. Wow, these guys ramble. Get to the point! The show could maybe three star if they cut out the cohost that just does color commentary. Not sure why there’s two people. Awful show. Good for you if you make money off this...Read full review »

Ads are long and drawn out and too much rambling. Get to the story!

Really enjoyed the early episodes, but has tailed off considerably in the last couple years: as others have already reviewed, there is so much extraneous information and banter and ads that it detracts from the desired intention. Bonus star for introducing Scared All the Time, though - those two...Read full review »

Simply the best, if I had one complaint it would be that the episodes aren’t longer. I’ve been listening since the very beginning and I just want to say thank you for all your hard work.

Simply put - the best podcast out there. I’ve listened to plenty of episodes and can’t anything to complain about, I really don’t know how the hosts and the team do everything perfect. Absolutely the best, I’m so happy I found it!!

Stories are trash. They take more pride in they’re commercials, rather then putting on an actual “show” dont waste youre time.

I remember as a kid I used to pad my homework with unnecessary facts. This podcast is kind of like that. Is it cromulent? No, not really. But it’s good for putting my restless brain to sleep.
drj3141 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/27/24
They believe in quantity not quality. Old episodes are good. Last couple years they babble for an hour and a half, with very little meat on the bone in terms of actual information about the topic.

Been listening to this show since 2015. The most recent Hawaii night marchers finally got a review from me. I’m tired of listening to a podcast I don’t subscribe to, then when they finally get one out they worry about cultural appropriation and have someone else on. I’m not subscribing anymore...Read full review »

I popped over here from Haunted Cosmos and I like the content, but the hosts ramble a LOT. Some people like that, some people don’t. Since I felt frustrated trying to find the meat of the stories, this isn’t the show for me.

I’ve listened since the beginning and man was this a great podcast back then. For the last 2 years it’s become an ad-centric talk show with guests actually doing the grunt work of the stories. Umm
20 minutes to actually get to the topic. That’s just rediculus. It’s unfortunate, because the research is somewhat complete.

Started of great, but the last year they just waffle on about absolute nonsense, and you guys believe anything, very gullible and sadly now just a mediocre podcast,go listen to expanded perspectives or mysterious universe. They are much more professional than this dribble.

Guys I know you think it’s strange that “Math” is called “Maths” in the uk. It doesn’t means that there’s more than one “Math” as you said. It is short for “Mathematics” which you’ll notice also ends in an “s”. “Math” makes no sense at all. It is like calling “Physics”, “Physic”. Hope this helps

Always skip the first 15 minutes, it’s nothing but lame banter and commercials. The show is alright some good indie but they hosts are a pretty cringy sometimes with how whitebread they are.
