Can be good if they interview someone who is smarter than the hosts. At their worst it’s conspiracy minded culture warrior nonsense. Update: Philip Cunliffe Get a Real Job Challenge: Impossible

Hosts are good about staying on topic while remaining interesting. Focused but not stale. I’m not so into the branding and music, but the discussion is pretty good (I’ve only listened to free episodes).

Haven’t listened. Reading the descriptions it kinda sounds gay. Sorry!

I tried listening to this, and the people seemed interesting enough and like maybe they have interesting things to say. But all this really is is an advertisement for their “reading club,” and I wish they were more direct about that.

As a US citizen who spent decades of my younger adult living in the East End amongst Leftists, I find these guys a breath of calm, fresh air. Bright young leftists who can still be funny. As my (English) husband once asked years ago, “What’s up with all of these overly sincere, humourless,...Read full review »

Great show; very entertaining and enlightening. My one issue though is that the feed is a complete mess. New episodes are hard to find, while older ones are hidden under a heap of 2-minute trailers. I’m not sure if I should blame the show, or the way iTunes catalogues old episodes. Either way, if...Read full review »

Find the podcast quite compelling and entertaining. Central thrust of the project (an autopsy of a Left they have separated themselves from) contains a lot of media class myopia (are teenagers on twitter canceling you really the driving cause of the left’s evaporating social base? Is Owen Jones a...Read full review »

I’ve been listening for a few months now and really enjoy the format. They have different guests and it’s not always a current events round table, which I appreciate. Usually I can’t stand British accents, but these hosts have highly tolerable british or irish accents; their voices are actually...Read full review »

Consistently good and consistently interesting. A very pleasant surprise, in that I only picked it up for a specific interview but found myself going back to it just to see if other episodes were as good. They were. And now I'm kinda hooked. So here I sit writing a review for this excellent...Read full review »

I’ve learned a lot from listening to this podcast. I think it makes good listening for any open-minded and curious person although obviously it helps if you have a penchant for materialism and socialism.

Witty and irreverent. This is the pure sauce right here, friends. They’re wrong about Brexit, but pretty much on point about everything else. And even when they’re wrong, they’re kind of right.

Sharp political analysis from the left, surprisingly free of sadomasochistic sanctimony.

The aforementioned series is one the great achievements of both the podcasting medium and of 21st century class-first socialism. The rest of the show is good, too.

I’m so happy I found this podcast through listening to Amber on Chapo as a lot of people on the left do. Unlike Chapo this pod isn’t focused on comedy which allows a lot of the same subject matter to be explored in an academic and nuanced way. I’ve learned so much in a few episodes and haven’t...Read full review »

The American left is weak on international politics as well as largely incapable of doing real left cultural criticism without jargon, obscurantism, and celebrity worship. These are the strong points of this podcast.

I’m thrilled I discovered this genuinely progressive political podcast, and it has quickly become one of my go-to favourites. It gets right into the topics I am keen to delve into, in an intelligent but still accessible way. It’s enjoyable and easy to listen to but never feels patronizing, and...Read full review »

My favourite political podcast. An excellent exposition of the current political/ideological moment. Also refreshingly international.

This show, although a bit tough to follow at times due to the level of expertise on the show, is extraordinary. This is exactly what I want in a long form podcast, deep dives into nuanced topics, cultural considerations into political/historical topics, and it’s funny sometimes. I like the show.
