How good would it be to have some beers and a feed at a craft brewery, then head upstairs to a hotel room where you can stay the night (or as many as you want)?
Well, at Wobbly Chook Brewing Co in Yamba, NSW, you can do exactly that!
Adsy and Joel go on a tour of this awesome craft brewery/cafe/hotel that was a backpackers in a past life. Their guide Shane, shares plenty of 'cluckin' good tales, including the story of who the actual Wobbly Chook is in the family!

For years, both Adsy and Joel have loved the West Coast IPA made by Seven Mile Brewing. So when it was finally time to sit down and chat with the creator of this multi-award winning beer, they were pumped!
Matt takes us on a tour of this Ballina based brewery, which finds itself home right next to the local airport. Starting off with just a few FV tanks, that collection has quickly grown (as you'll see) to allow for the production of their highly regarded core range beers, plus plenty of...

Watch the episode here - https://aussiebeervoyage.au/episodes/34-brian-from-spangled-drongo/
Pretty excited to catch up with Brian from Spangled Drongo Brewery in Murwillumbah (Adsy even has trouble saying it), as the first official NSW brewery we have visited! Brian is an out and out local, having previously worked for some of the other large breweries in the area. You’ve probably heard of them, being Stone & Wood and Balter Brewing, definitely not small fish in this big pond we call...

The very first location to visit on our Northern NSW Roadtrip and it’s to visit Smokey at Currumbin Valley Brewing! To say we were excited was an understatement. Joel might have been less excited to quickly realise just how much Smokey talks, and paired with Adsy, was going to be recording a lot of information.
Unique to a lot of the places we’ve visited is that Currumbin Valley’s brewhouse is located on Smokey’s private farmland, nestled in the beautiful rainforest of… You guessed it,...

In this episode, you'll be guided by Joel's dulcet tones as he narrates the entire trip in an overview as we meandered down from Brisbane to as far south as Coffs Harbour. Writing this now, who was Coffs? Anyway, I digress, mostly because I don't to say much in this episode! Some people will likely enjoy that more - Adsy.
We've taken our very first real voyage as part of the Aussie Beer Voyage (ABV) podcast to Northern NSW! We also visited Smokey at Currumbin Valley Brewing, which is really...

In March the Royal Queensland Beer Awards (RQBA) were held in Brisbane, where Adsy was a judge and Hendo was the Chairman of Judges! A fancy title to be sure, but what does it mean and what do beer competitions entail? Here we chat about how to judge beer and what goes into the process of the stewarding behind the scenes, judging process and all the other things you might not know.
We already know so much about Hendo, both as Adsy & Joel’s good mate, but also from our interview last...

The Royal Queensland Beer Awards is an important event in the Australian beer calendar for craft breweries around the country. It's one of the first chances they get to receive feedback on their beers and take that onboard for any future improvements and tweaks. Taking home a nice trophy and some medals is also nice!
Adsy and Joel chat with Ari from The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) about all of the work that goes into organising a competition of...

In this episode, Adsy and Joel (well, mostly Adsy) geek out over some serious homebrewing equipment with Gary from Newera Brewing in Brisbane.
It's not just homebrew kits though, Gary supplies a full range of equipment for making great beer, right through to high end professional level stainless. Two of the main brands you can find at Newera are Ss Brewtech and Brewtools.
Gary shows us around his display room, containing everything a homebrewer could possibly dream of...unitanks, milling...

Adsy and Joel have been keen to chat with Annelies from Madocke Beer Brewing Company on the Gold Coast for some time now, and they weren't disappointed!
This outstanding Belgian family owned brewery, started from very humble beginnings in the home garage, which brewed small batches of beer and even featured a fully licensed tap room!
Nowadays, you'll find them brewing award winning beers in their new full sized taproom at Ashmore on the Gold Coast. They also took out the Champion Small...

Adsy took some time to drink a beer the other morning and jump on a Zoom call with James from The Crafty Pint to chat about all things Local Beer Day.
With the state of the economy, the hospitality sector and the brewing industry at large suffering with the cost of living, this day is a day to bring back that simple appreciation for beer. The world's best beverage, just ask Adsy!
Unfortunately Joel wasn't around to film this one and the technicalities of Zoom meant that the usual quality...

How to put beer into cans? It's a pretty important question to answer, especially if you're a brewery that doesn't own a canning line. That's where mobile canning companies like Craft Punks Canning, come into play!
Our second episode of the year takes us to Madocke Brewing to sit down (turns out we stood up) with Scott from Craft Punks Canning. Adsy and Joel have a bit of history with Scott and his team, having both worked at Helios while Scott canned the beers. Adsy has also helped pack...

Our first craft beer podcast episode of the year, sees us return to Helios Brewing Company in Brisbane, where we chat to their new head brewer - Jake Harrison.
Jake cut his teeth working for many years at Ballistic Beer Company just down the road from Helios in Salisbury, before making the shift to a more simple life brewing solo at the solar powered Helios.
In this episode, Jake talks us through the brew kit, runs through some samples of the beers he's been making (including the sell-out...

The Brew Baron Beer Company is one of the newest additions to the Brisbane beer scene, having taken over the former brew site/venue of Parched Brewing earlier in 2023.
The head brewer, Matt, managed to squeeze a chat with Adsy and Joel into his busy schedule, between making beers for the locals, and teaching the next generation of brewers at TAFE Queensland.

So Adsy met Jaimie, a Beer Traveller from the United States of America, while sitting at Hiker Brewing Concern one afternoon. It was only 5 minutes into the conversation before Adsy had heard enough and asked Jaimie if she’d be keen to film an interview. Little did Adsy know that there were two issues with his request.
Jaimie dislikes social media and being filmed, and,
Jaimie was only in the country for another week.
