“Anna's podcast was recommended to me by my therapist. I had been struggling with overwhleming anxiety and depression and needed more tools to heal myself and repair a very fractured relationship with my toddler daugther. I wasn't able to parent in the way I truly wanted and the podcast's stories and advice allowed me to forgive myself and my daugther, find some grace for both of us, and make an intentional effort to be more connected and loving.
I especially loved last week's episode which discussed the "loss" that comes with becoming a mommy and how to stay CALM in the moment. I have struggled with my new mom self significantly and haven't been able to find the words to express it until last week. During the podcast I found myself saying "YES" out loud multiple times! The CALM strategies have also been so helpful. My daughter and I are both highly spirited and highly sensitive so we tend to work each other up fairly quickly over small things. On one instance when the car seat buckle wasn't just right, I said out loud to both of us "This is not an emergency" and it truly helped.
