Bothering
I used to enjoy most of the episodes of the podcast until I listened to the one about blowjobs. I feel concerned because Juliet gives her audience the impression that it is a woman’s duty to blow and enjoy it. Always in a heterosexual prism, always talking to women about men as if they were different creatures. We’re not in Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. It is very bothering to listen to this episode even though I know that it was made with good intentions. The advice is great, but the tone and the message around the advice are terrible. I don’t think a sex expert (or sexologist ? I dont remember, no offense) should claim things such has « men have to feel like you love their cocks ». I’m all about giving and generosity in bed and I see the point that Juliet was trying to make. But a discourse like that is harmful and does not help women free themselves sexually if they’re still compelled to men’s special needs. It would have been ok if it was just her personal experience and conclusions. But the claims and affirmations are just not ok. She’s not forcing anyone of course, but the subtitle remains : men want it and we gotta give it to them and most of all; we gotta love it.
